Poetry - 17:

The Worth of a True Friend

You said that I could trust you until the end,

Instead you taught me the pain of betrayal by a friend.

I was there when you needed me again and again,

Then when I needed you to understand you turned your back on a true friend.

Through the years I loaned you money and fed you some food,

Gave a safe place to lay your head then beside you I always stood.

When others were putting you down and calling you names,

It was me that told them that they should be ashamed.

The first true test of where as friends we stood,

You couldn't consider my side and I feel that you should.

And all that I've done was not enough for you,

Exactly how much is a friend to do?

Still this friendship could be saved - all is not completely lost,

Some caring actions and a few kind words from you is the cost.

The Sabbat Beltaine

April comes with it's showers of rain,

Signals the Sabbat that is called Beltaine.

With promises of flowers and the smell of spring,

All is new and the grass is sprouting.

Friends and lovers dance around the Maypole,

Such a sight is good for the soul.

This festival of the Wheel of the Year,

Promotes laughter and joy; a time to cheer.

The Sabbat Beltaine is also called May Day,

Is a time to celebrate spring and to shout out hooray.

My Special Mother

A special mother God made just for me,

And no other mother can compare to she.

Lots of love to give from a heart made of gold,

My mother is truly a beauty to behold.

Always ready with a hug or a kiss,

Actions to fill my heart with bliss.

With wisdom and kind words to share,

As a jewel my mother would be quite rare.

Mutual respect we now have for each other,

A tribute to unconditional love is my mother.

Chihuahua Love

From a tiny little dog that weighs only five pounds,

Comes an unconditional love that truly will astound.

Courageous and proud - demanding of your affection,

He'll win your heart in no time and share a powerful connection.

Personality and attitude - this baby giant is full of,

If you are his chosen one - He'll give you all his love.

Of all the breeds of Man's best friend this pup is the smallest,

When it comes to a loyal companion this little dog is tallest.

So if you'd like a lifelong bond to a friend that you'll be proud of,

This mini canine will bestow on you a special gift called Chihuahua Love.

 Holiday Season is Here

The holiday season is here once again,

And soon we will be building snowmen.

Tis a busy time shuffling all about,

After all of the errands we'll be worn out.

The day after Thanksgiving we'll rush to the store,

Searching each display for treasures galore.

Under the mistletoe we hope to be kissed,

While Santa is busy checking his list.

The lights are hung in Christmas decor,

Now don't you forget to give to the poor.

We'll get cozy and warm sitting by the fire,

As we listen to carols sung by a choir.

Santa's toy filled sleigh is pulled by reindeer,

So everyone start spreading some holiday cheer.

A Tale of Two Friends

We met one night a few years ago,

You were bartending while I did a show.

Some sang a song and most had a drink,

And through it all we were in sync.

Later you listened to my tales of woe,

As you listened to me our friendship did grow.

Now in my eyes you are a bright star,

Hard to believe it all started down at the bar.
