The Worth of a True
Friend
You said that I could
trust you until the end,
Instead you taught me
the pain of betrayal by a friend.
I was there when you
needed me again and again,
Then when I needed
you to understand you turned your back on a true friend.
Through the years I
loaned you money and fed you some food,
Gave a safe place to
lay your head then beside you I always stood.
When others were
putting you down and calling you names,
It was me that told
them that they should be ashamed.
The first true test
of where as friends we stood,
You couldn't consider
my side and I feel that you should.
And all that I've
done was not enough for you,
Exactly how much is a
friend to do?
Still this friendship
could be saved - all is not completely lost,
Some caring actions
and a few kind words from you is the cost.
