Poetry - 21:

 My Life's Struggle

I spend each day at home all-alone,

I wonder what I did for which to atone.

Since recently I lost my sweet little dog,

My existence has become but a hazy fog.

I try very hard to get on with living my life,

But living is hard when your life’s full of strife.

I feel that I’m all empty and hollow inside,

If I’d told you different then I would have lied.

Until I am able to come up with a plan,

I’ll struggle through life the best that I can.

Benton My Friend

Benton to me you have been a great friend,

Which is why for you this poem I have penned.

You’re good through and through with a heart that is pure,

If our friendship became an illness I wouldn’t take the cure.

A lot of time together we don’t really spend,

Me as your friend is what you can depend.

Because our friendship is so wonderfully rare,

This I am sure of and what I must declare.

A short and cute little story this has been,

I hope has put on your face a big fat grin.

A Man Named Jimmy

I know a man named Jimmy who is a friend to me,

And though he doesn't realize it a good man is he.

Throughout the years our separate paths have crossed in and out,

Our friendship has stayed strong and true of this there be no doubt.

Jimmy if you ever need a shoulder on which to cry,

Know you have a friend in me of this you can rely.

This friend of mine has always been a lot of fun to be with,

So now I'd like to tell the world my friend is Jimmy Goldsmith.

 Over and Done Now

I've had this feeling once and again,

The time has come for my life to end.

They say you won't be given more than you can take,

But of this I know better since I felt my heart break.

My intention is not to leave you in pain,

For me to go on would be living in vain.

You had nothing to do with my decision to go,

My life was too hard is what you should know.

In life I love you dearly, in death I will love you still,

Life is a mountain of misery, I can't make it over the hill.

So don't be sad and unhappy or cry any tears for me,

Instead go on and be happy, celebrate that finally I'm free.

Expressions of Life

Some people are nice and some people are mean,

Which is why good friends are few and far between.

Its said that if wishes were horses then beggars would ride,

But if you don't make that wish then it can't be denied.

Opinions are said to be like asses and every body has one,

Some are made up of facts while others are pure fiction.

You say that misery loves company so come on in,

With an attitude like that its no wonder you can't win.

You can ponder these thoughts and with others argue,

But enough of this crap, I'm done and I'm through.

A Day of Thanks

Lets raise our glasses as we give thanks,

We survived another year and we saved our banks.

With too many blessings to name them all,

Let us eat some food and then watch football.

Today with loved ones our time we have shared,

To be any place else couldn't have compared.

Every year we gather at this time in the fall,

To give thanks for the blessings shared by one and all.

So Happy Thanksgiving wishes to you and your clan,

This holiday went well in spite of no plan.
