To Bind a Spell Every Time

Let the Spell be Spoke in Rhyme

The Spell Caster

Ribbon tied bundles of herbs hang on hooks

Bottles and jars, an assortment of books

Candles and parchment, feathers and stones

Incense carries a message --- through the Cosmos it roams

Toward the home of the Ancients --- unnoticed by all

Except those who pay heed to the Ancient Arts' call

Enchanted wrapped parcels of spells are unleashed

Gnarled, ancient fingers toward them now reach

Faded eyes read intentions, consider and stir

The old Cosmic Cauldron, and magic occurs

And back on the Earth, power peaks, then it flows

As the spell caster shouts, "As I will, be it so".

--- Kalioppe

Bottles and Jars of This and That

Bottles and jars in the cabinet kept

Sung free one ev'n, they danced and leapt

A joy, To be filled, A wish come true

From the world so wide come grains and sands

Sprinkle of words from myriad hands

Jars and bottles from the cabinet flew

A use, a use, one old but new

The song and the dance went on all day

Children of the cabinet come out and play

Clear, shining and clean; some without lid

Dusty, cloudy, unwashed, "Come", they bid

--- Merry

By Karmic Power of Number Three,

This Spell is Knotted and Tied;

So that it's Contents Stay Together,

And can't Harm Human, Beast or Weather.

The Nature of Friends

Trees and flowers, herbs and stones

Share with us their Earthly home

They live and breathe, They laugh and they play

Some find new homes and move away

But others hang around for a while

To watch o'er us and cast a smile

Upon  us, Then they lend a hand

In spreading magic through the land

By giving us their precious gifts ---

Delighting as the Cosmos lifts

Its gauzy veil and spells fly in

And magic comes back out again

Then carried on the wings of birds

A witch's simple words are heard

Her voice twirls softly on the winds

"Thank you all, my Nature Friends".

--- Kalioppe

She is the fairy's midwife, and she comes

In shape no bigger than an agate-stone

On the fore-finger of an alderman

---   from Shakespear's Romeo and Juliet

The Magical Dance

The whir of a blender, a bunch of dried herbs,

Hand written notes to be closely observed

A heady aroma that fills every room

And dancing in time to the clatter of spoons

Is a drip coffee maker, a potpourri pot,

And a gath'ring of words, flowers, stones and what-not

Together they bring the magic to life

It twirls and it dips and it spins 'round in flight

It dances 'round outlets and electrical plugs

It sweeps through the hallways and under the rugs

Energizing the Ancient Arts --- setting them free

And bringing its power to you and to me

--- Kalioppe

Devotion

I awaken with the earth as the sun rises
Love still exists you know, under many disguises
Do you hear the birds as they tell their story?
Perched high in the trees that stand tall in their glory
The one-leggeds, the two as well as the four
Blessed be to all forever more
Earth , Wind, Water, and Fire
I ask the gods to mold my desire
Let my spirit coincide with yours
Blessed be to all forever more
And when the darkness fall the moon shines bright
The fairies and the gnomes dance in the twilight
The sacred wisdom of magickal lore
Blessed be to all forever more

--- Lord Kinjo
